"Blood Stone 007" for Playstation 3: James Bond's Perks, Learning Curves and Gameplay

If you're a fan of James Bond and an avid PS3 gamer, you can't miss "Blood Stone 007" for Playstation 3. Not only does the game feature the voice talent of Daniel Craig and Judi Dench, you also get to enjoy a brand new theme song from Joss Stone, who also voices the main female villain in the game.

The Plot

James Bond's missions get more and more modern every time you see him. This time, he's keeping a G20 Summit goers out of the path of a bomb.

After Bond accomplishes this mission, he's off to Istanbul tracking down a presumed kidnapper. The life of a scientist is in his hands, as is the technology to make antidotes - or weapons - for smallpox and anthrax.

I won't give away the spoiler, but somehow, Joss Stone's character, Nicole, is involved in the plot. Let's put it this way - don't trust her!

The Fun Stuff

Driving is one of the most fun parts of any PS3 game. But in "Blood Stone 007," you'll have to get used to driving like the car was real, using difficult-to-control speeds and a handbrake for drifting.

Featured vehicles include a couple different Aston Martins, a speedboat and a Tuktuk, which is basically a glorified rickshaw for driving in the Far East while chasing a villain.

The point you must remember while driving is to always keep the villain in your sights. The minute he's out of range, Bond's screen goes gray and you have to start over at a checkpoint again. This gets very frustrating, because if you drive too fast, you crash. But if you drive too slowly, you lose because you're out of range.

The Weapons

Bond carries only two weapons at a time, which is not unusual for a PS3 character. But he never throws grenades, so don't go around looking for them.

He naturally uses a Walther as his main pistol, but he also gets to play with sniper rifles, shotguns, machine pistols and grenade launchers.

Unlike "Uncharted," where you must pick up ammo with the green triangle button, Bond refills it automatically when he comes across it lying on the ground. To pick up a different weapon, you must press and hold "R2." To switch weapons, press the green triangle button.

Maneuvering

The jump and "get in cover" commands are switched around from most games. James gets into cover when you press "X" and gets out of it in the same fashion. But he jumps and climbs ladders when you press the red circle button. It's frustrating to change it around at first, but you do get used to it eventually.

Specials

Whenever Bond takes down a villain using hand to hand combat, he earns a focus aim. These focus aims enable you to shoot hard-to-find enemies with only one round - no matter what weapon you're using - just by pressing a combination of left and right remote buttons.

This is handy for when you're low on ammo or when you can't get a clear shot of an enemy.
