Yeah, okay chief, maybe you're right. But, before we sit down to tea and crumpets to knock around some new ideas, don't you think it might not be a good idea to go down and put the fire out first? I mean, it is our house and everything.
Fox News is reporting today that 21 people died in a gang and drug cartel gun battle just south of the Arizona border. To date, it's one of the bloodiest battles between the rivaling factions and hitting about as close to home as you can get, occurring approximately 12 miles from the Arizona/Mexico border.
Arizona's governor, the feisty, Jan Brewer has been taking on the Obama administration for the past few weeks regarding the border issues with little to no response from the prez. That's because Governor Brewer wants to put the fire out before the president sits down to discuss new procedures to fire fighting - also known as comprehensive immigration reform. You've heard of that, right? It's a nice little buzz word that simply means, President Obama wants to change the way immigration is handled in our country. Before he takes any action to seal and protect our borders.
Now, I'm not inside Barry-O's head, so I can't and won't speak with any certainty on what he thinks. I can only speak to his actions or in this case, the lack thereof. And of course, filter in a bit of the talking head's analysis on the political ramifications of said, "comprehensive immigration reform".
Unfortunately, President Obama is first and foremost a politician and as such he filters most decisions through his politician paradigm. The paradigm that says he must maintain his power at all times and therefore, what can he do to insure that he maintains that power?
I do not enjoy such cynicism and though President Obama is certainly not the first power hungry politician to sleep in the White House, he is the most brazen I've seen in my lifetime. He is a thin-skinned ideologue that has a vision of this country that is held by a very slim minority.
However, he is the one who holds the power and so it really doesn't matter what the masses think. He has his finger on the button and he and only he can push it right now.
That he would continue to stall and hem and haw about the Arizona border situation is beyond my comprehension. That he would threaten to sue the state of Arizona for passing laws to protect its borders and its citizens is also beyond my comprehension.
And yet, this is the man who is representing me and this country today. A man who has an agenda that he is determined to ram down our throats whether we like it or not.
A man who is determined to bore his way into the constitutional framework of this country collapsing it to the ground, so he can rebuild it with his political, Utopian dream.
A man who likely realizes his days in power are numbered and seems determined to do the greatest amount of damage in the least amount of time - a political hail Mary if you will.
I'm just wondering though, how many American citizens are going to have to get caught in the cross-fire of the hell that is occurring on the border of Arizona before this guy gets it.
You tell me, Mr. President, 10? 20? 30? You call it. Just do something about it, damn it.

Sheryl, it's NEVER too late to rant about politics. Just pick a topic and go with it. It's an evergreen opportunity if you ask me. :D
Hey - thanks for writing this! I was looking to see if anyone had done so at AC. I just read about it - I guess I'm too late to write on it. But you did a great job! Plus, I enjoy running into people at AC whom I've never "met" before.
It's more like ranting, Malina. But, thanks. :)
Great reporting. Thanks!
