Bloody Mary Recipes that Are Bloody Good

Darlene Michaud
A Bloody Mary is a cocktail made with tomato juice, vodka, and various spices or flavorings. A Bloody Mary can be mild, or it can be spiced up hot enough to bring you to tears. The good thing is you can decide just how hot and spicy you want your cocktail. Below are several versions of this popular drink, including a delicious virgin recipe for those who do not want the alcohol.

4 dashes worcestershire sauce
4 dashes tabasco sauce
1 round teaspoon horseradish
2 dashes pickle juice
2 dashes olive juice
2 dashes lime juice
Tomato juice or V8 Juice

lime for garnish
ice cubes or cracked ice

Pour the vodka into a highball glass and add the worcestershire sauce, tabasco sauce, horseradish, pickle juice (use the juice from a jar of dill pickles, and olive juice (use the juice from a jar of green olives). Stir this well so the horseradish breaks down. Then add ice cubes or cracked ice to the glass and fill to the top with tomato juice. Sprinkle a bit of salt, pepper, and celery seed on top then stir. Garnish with a stick of celery and a slice of lime. Squeeze the lime into the drink before drinking for even more flavor. If the cocktail does not make your toes curl, you can add a bit more horseradish and tabasco sauce.
