Bloomers boasts to have "The Coldest Beer in Town" and has several wide screen televisions so patrons can watch their favorite sporting events while they enjoy a night out. But Bloomers is way more than just the average sports bar.
Bloomers offers some of the best food in town as well. From sports termed burgers and sandwiches, to steaks, home-made soups and salads, Bloomers has it all. Their steaks are some of the best I've ever had at a restaurant. They are marinated in Bloomers' special marinade and grilled to perfection. They are tender and juicy. In short, they are fantastic.
Bloomers also offers a wide variety of sandwiches. They have a Grilled Pork loin sandwich. It is topped with your choice of American or Swiss cheese. It is filling, but it isn't heavy. It is definitely a "must try". Their Prime Rib steak sandwich is also another must try on the menu.
They offer a wide variety of appetizers as well as their entrees. These appetizers could serve as a meal. For example, their nacho platter is big enough to serve a family of 4 or 5 people. One person cannot eat this alone. They also make it to order, so you have a choice of chicken or beef, and can have any toppings on it that you want.
Bloomers also has fast friendly customer service. The proprietors, "Tank" and "Strauto" take turns at being there every night. They chat with the patrons throughout the restaurant and at the bar. Which makes the customers feel welcome. The staff are friendly and make new customers feel like regulars in no time at all.
Bloomers isn't just a bar. It is family friendly. They have a kid's menu that offers hot dogs, chicken strips, grilled cheese, or hamburgers. They even have "sippy" cups for the toddlers. Not many restaurants offer that kind of service.
There are also video games to occupy the kids while they wait for their food. This also allows their parents to sit back, relax, and enjoy a cold beverage.
As I stated before, Bloomers has several wide screen televisions, including a big screen. With satellite service, they can show several games at one time. No one misses their favorite team's game.
Bloomers is a family style restaurant with a down home atmosphere. The staff does not wear uniforms. Instead, they wear jeans and a Bloomers shirt. This allows for a comfortable, casual atmosphere for everyone.
Bloomers is definitely the best restaurant in Carroll. They have something to offer to everyone who walks through the door. It is very refreshing to walk into a restaurant where the staff all say hello to you and allow you to sit wherever you want to sit.
"Tank" and "Strauto" opened Bloomers several years ago so people could have a place to watch sports, drink beer or pop, and mingle with their friends. They have been successful because of their good food, cold beer, friendly service, and great atmosphere.
So if you're ever passing through Carroll, Iowa, give Bloomers a try. It is located on the east side of town and is conveniently located in between two hotels. People staying at the hotels have an awesome place to eat and relax.
Give Bloomers a try. I guarantee you won't regret it.

Post a CommentYeah, I know. The service has diminished since I wrote this article. I very rarely go there anymore because of the service. It seems like as soon as the owners leave for the night, the staff just stops what they're doing.
My girlfriend and I decided head over to Bloomer's last night for dinner and drinks. Neither of us will be returning to this establishment. The place was not busy at all when we walked in, however it was difficult to find a table because most of the empty tables were still dirty from the previous patrons food and drink glasses. When we got seated, it took about 10 minutes for someone to finally take our drink order...even though there were two waitresses working. Then it was another ten minutes to take our food order. The waitresses demeanor was very curt...almost like it was an inconvenience for her to wait on us. The one plus about this visit is that once we were finally able to place our order, our food was ready very quickly. However, when it did come, our order was wrong and the food was poor at best. The French dip was rubbery and fatty and the burger was burnt and tasteless. When we were ready to leave, it took quite a while for the waitress to get us our check....she was too bu
Yum! If I ever manage to visit you, you can take me out to eat at Bloomers! ;)
