United States of America
On campus, one of the main dining facilities is called the Commons, which offers a buffet-style dining experience. They serve a variety of foods, including pasta, grilled and fried foods, a salad bar, specials including chicken parmesan, wings, cordon bleu, steak, gyros, lots of vegetable and fruit options, homemade style meals such as turkey, pork, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and much more. There is also a dessert station and a drink station. The dessert station serves homemade ice cream daily, which is delicious, and you are free to add any kind of topping you desire! There are also amazing homemade oatmeal, peanut butter, Reese's pieces, double chocolate chip, and chocolate chip cookies made fresh everyday. They are quite the popular dessert amongst the students!
There is another place right across the way from the Commons called the Kehr Union. Inside this building is a fast food type restaurant where there are homemade style meals, a grill station, as well as to-go sandwiches, a bagel station, a smoothie station, and a deli. I personally am a huge fan of the bagel station. You are free to order any type of bagel sandwich you are in the mood for, whether it's a turkey sandwich with all the toppings or a cinnamon-raisin with cream cheese. However you like it, that's how they'll make it! I prefer their chicken salad sandwiches. They are quite tasty! They also offer cookies, pretzels, chips, and other dessert items daily.
Near the main part of campus inside the student service center is a place very similar to the Kehr Union dining facility called Roongos Cafe. It offers bagels, grilled entrees, homemade entrees, soups, salads, cookies, and danishes daily. It is a very convenient place to eat because it is right in the center of all the educational buildings where classes take place, and they offer on-the-move meals, as well as freshly made entrees, if you have a little time to spare.
There is a pizza place downstairs below the Commons and it offers daily pizza specials, wraps, and sandwiches. Service is a little slow there, but the food is usually pretty good. They recently added grilled wraps to their menu, which I am quite impressed with. I also recommend their buffalo chicken pizza.
There are also two coffee shops on campus, which offer a selection of delicious refreshing hot or cold drinks, from their famous Javalanches, which are similar to frappuccinos to Itailian sodas (seltzer water and any flavor syrup you choose). They also have a variety of coffees, lattes, and all those delicious drinks coffee lovers long for. Not to mention, they offer dessert too! They offer cheesecake, cake, and homemade cookies and chocolates.
On upper campus, there is one dining facility called Monty's. It offers a mixture of foods avalailble in the other dining facilities previously mentioned on lower campus, but there are some added entrees. There is a daily taco/quesadilla/nacho station, and various specials served daily that aren't available on lower campus. There is also the traditional deli and grill section as well. There are salads and sandwiches pre-made to go if you are in a rush, but everything else is made fresh right in front of you.
At Bloomsburg, there are lots of options and you will never be hungry! From homemade to fast-food food meals to dessert, they offer it all, and with a student meal-plan, all it takes is a swipe of your card to be on your way with a delicious meal!
