Bloop Diary - an Easy to Use Website for a Diary or Blog

Laura Hickey
There are a lot of blogging Websites available for free today. If you aren't a fan of Google's Blogger or Xanga, you may want to check out Bloop. While Bloop consists of a teenager fan base, there are quite a few adults using it as well. The name of the Website contains 'diary', it may be used as a blog and it's simple to get started.

Simply start by adding a user name, password, e-mail address and your signature name if you decide to leave comments on others diary/blog. You can choose to have a location, gender and birth date information shared. Last step is to decide what your address on bloop is going to be. Agree to Bloop's term of agreement and enter the numbers or letters and click on 'create my diary'. Bloop suggest giving out an e-mail address in case of accidentally forgetting the password to re-send it. It currently isn't necessarily to give out.

Once you've registered, you're ready to go. You can edit how your front page will look to others by clicking on : manage my diary located on the right hand side. Then on the left hand side, click under my diary: My front page. Here you can write a little information, add smileys or HTML. If you don't know many HTML websites for designs or graphics, check out my other article where you'll find 6 websites to help get your started by clicking here.

Or if you prefer diving right into blogging, click on the new entry on the right hand side of the screen. You can decide where you want the HTML editor on or off. With every new entry you are given privacy options for that entry. Some options include who's allowed to view your entry and who's allowed to comment on it. The whole diary/blog has an option that it may be viewed only by the account user. You may want to preview the entry, cancel it or come back later. If you do decide to leave the page before saving, you will lose whatever was written or pasted into the entry box. The editor is pretty basic allowing the user to choose background color and font color along with adding images.

Each entry has a place to add a title and includes the date it was published. If you want a certain item to be placed in the entry each time without continuing adding it to each entry, paste/write it in the default entries option. This is located under 'manage my diary' and then under the 'entries' location. Bloop also offers information such as a failed attempt to log into the account. If this happens, when the user is logged in, they will receive an e-mail in their Bloop inbox. It will state the time, the IP number and what the problem was. If you suspect someone trying to get into your account, you can contact customer support.

On websites such as Blogger and Xanga there currently is no updated blogs list to see who has recently updated. On Blogger they may have a few on the main page and on Xanga the blog entry will be posted if it's listed as a featured blog. With Bloop every public allowed viewed entry is posted immediately after it gets published to allow others to see what's new. This allows bloggers/diarist to perhaps have a better chance at others commenting and making associates to converse with. On Blogger and Xanga you may need to leave a comment before receiving any blog views.

If there is a known reason for website to be down such as for maintenance, the webmaster A.K.A Steve will alert others before it happens. If there is an unexpected error, he will apologize for the downtime. There has been only one big hiccup with this website and that was unfortunately due to data being lost and unable to retrieve it back due to changing servers. Before this issue Bloop otherwise didn't have any major hiccups currently known. Since the server change it's back and better than ever. If for any reason you aren't happy with Bloop, you can delete your account under the 'manage my diary' and then click under 'my account'.
