Blue Angels Grounded

Will Not Perform in Rockford

Tim O'Brien
They dazzle and amaze do the Blue Angels, but for now they are on what they have called a "safety stand-down."
This means that the upcoming Rockford show has been called off. The highly attended event was to take place at the Chicago Rockford International Airport June 4-5.
In a statement released by the Navy, the reason for the stand-down was due to a show earlier in May where planes flew to close to the ground. With that, came the announcement that Navy Cmdr. Dave Koss has resigned from the team.
If you were planning on attending the Rockford, show, it will still feature the parachute team.
As for the upcoming Quad City show, as of today, no decision has been made. That event is June 18-19.
A show slated for Indiana in June has been cancelled as well.
