CBS premiered a new show this fall in one of their prime time spot, "Blue Bloods". Taking the place of "Numb3rs", "Blue Bloods" is another crime drama with few similarities to its predecessor. As a newcomers to the Friday night shows "Blue Bloods" is at the top in ratings not just for its time slot, but for the entire night, only being beat by "CSI: New York".

Tom Selleck lends his talents to this up and coming show. He plays New York City Police commissioner Frank Reagan, though he is only part of this crime fighting family. The Reagan family patriarch, Henry, is Frank's father and a retired Police Commissioner. He keeps the family gears moving by keeping the younger and older members of the Reagan family in tune with each other.

Donny Wahlberg plays Danny Reagan. A married Police Detective who served time fighting in the Iraqi War. Danny has his own opinions on how the law should be handled and that some time justice doesn't always prevail. Danny and his sister Erin are often found in heated battles because she is an Assistant District Attorney. Danny doesn't always believe that the judicial side of law enforcement holds up its end of the bargain.

Erin Reagan-Boyle, played by Bridget Moynahan, has a tough role, as the only adult female in the Reagan household and on the entire show for the most part. Not only does her character on "Blue Bloods" have to be able to stand up to the testosterone overload, she also needs to be able to keep "Blue Bloods" as a show everyone wants to watch, not just men. Erin is a recently divorced mother of a daughter who is currently using the divorce to her advantage.

Jamie Reagan is the baby of the "Blue Bloods" family. Jamie is a Harvard Law School graduate who surprised everyone, including his fiancé, when he decided to go to the police academy. Jamie is always taking heat from older brother, Danny, as being the rookie and the baby.

After only 7 episodes into the season, "Blue Bloods" is proving it has staying power on the CBS Prime Time line up. Millions of viewers tune in every Friday night to watch what is going to happen next and how this New York City law enforcement family is going to handle it. From making deals with the Mayor to taking criminals off the streets, the Reagan family has each area of law enforcement covered.
