"Blue Bloods" Staying Strong on CBS

"Blue Bloods" came out strong when the 11^th episode entitled "Little Fish" aired on CBS. Tom Selleck put in a good performance as the Police Chief who is haunted by the find of a little boy missing for 25 years. Selleck's character Frank Reagan had worked on the missing person's case involving missing child whose body was found.

I liked the way the writers handled the situation in "Little Fish" by having Reagan consumed with this unfinished business. It gave Selleck's character a very human element as he did what most people would have done.

I really like how "Blue Bloods" is advancing the plot involving the "Blue Templar' and the murder of one of Frank Reagan's sons. That plot is moving along, not too fast and not being drawn out.

Joe Reagan had been killed while investigating a secret police society called the "Blue Templar. Now younger brother Jamie Reagan is also investigating them to get to the bottom of who murdered his brother.

Each episode of "Blue Bloods" on CBS is advancing that plot while also featuring the plot of that particular week's show. In a time of police shows solving every crime in the 60 minutes allotted to that week, a drawn out plot is somewhat refreshing. I believe that will help keep fans of the show interested as they won't want to miss a single week, and not see the latest developments in the "Blue Templar" plot.

I don't want to get into any real "Blue Bloods" spoilers from the "Little Fish" episode so I won't go into a lot more detail about the particulars of that show. I will just say that when Frank Reagan has to tell the mother that her son who was missing for 25 years is indeed dead, that it is moving.

Tom Selleck best known for being on "Magnum PI" is showing his depth as an actor now that he has gotten older. Selleck as Frank Reagan and Donnie Wahlberg as Danny Reagan are by far my favorite "Blue Bloods" characters.

I am looking forward to seeing the new shows and in particular seeing how the "Blue Templar" plot plays out in new episodes. Hopefully the family dinners of the Reagan's on "Blue Bloods" will continue. That part of the show reminds me of "The Walton's" and the family togetherness is an important aspect to the continued improvement of "Blue Bloods".

Also I am interested in seeing the development of various characters on "Blue Bloods" and see possibilities for some good plot lines involving the kids on the show. With such a varied cast the show can take several different directions and potentially last several years without it getting stale.
