Blue Jeans

I was doing some serious writer-type investigative work (otherwise known as surfing the web) while checking possible leads for my next submission to Associated Content. For reasons unknown to me, other than earning my next paycheck, I started thinking about blue jeans. Yes, blue jeans, America's favorite pants. From the gold rush to the mall rush, blue jeans have been the de rigor fashion statement for generations. Before Ike to beyond Obama, blue jeans have been there and done that.

Whether you're into Levis, Wranglers, Antik or Apple Bottoms, there are jeans available to fit everyone from bouncing babies to curvy grandmas. Blue Tattoo jeans are marketed as the "anti-muffin top jean". There are blue jeans, black jeans, white jeans and brown jeans, but the most popular by far are blue jeans. Think about it. Did David Dundu sing, " I pull my red jeans on"? No way. The number three song in the July 1976 UK countdown was devoted to blue jeans. It was so popular in the US that it only took twenty odd years for Keith Urban to do his own cover of the song. There are faded jeans, distressed jeans, holes-in-the-knee jeans and your favorite and best jeans. Don't you wish you had invented blue jeans?

When asked, most people will tell you they wear blue jeans because they are comfortable. Bull feathers! When you get right down to it, we all think we're sexy in blue jeans. After all, the tv and magazine ads have been telling us that so long, we've come to believe it. Go ahead, pick up any fashion magazine in the rack, you'll see hunks and babes in blue jeans. Ever wonder why so many different people all love the same, old blue pants? Aside from the sex thing, there's the comfort factor. Sure, brand new blue jeans are stiff and feel like wearing body armor, but thrown them in the wash a few dozen times and the cotton comfort that we all know and love starts to shine through. And for all you green earth fans, hang a freshly laundered pair of your favorite blues outside to dry on a sunny day. The smell of sun-dried blue jeans is great and will remind you all day of the great outdoors, even if you're trapped babysitting, cleaning your room or working for a living.

Cowboys to bikers, skateboarders to rocker girls, we all love our blue jeans.

If you actually look into the history of blue jeans, it is quite interesting!
