1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup blueberries or other berry
1 teaspoon starch (corn, arrowroot or tapioca)

In a one-quart saucepan, bring above ingredients to a boil, stirring frequently. Simmer until desired thickness.
Microwave: Use only ¾ cup water. Put ingredients in a one-quart microwave-safe bowl. Cover loosely, allowing some air to escape. Bring to a boil. Stir frequently. Simmer to desired thickness.
