Achieving the Impossible with an Industry Standard

Dr. Phil
What do you know about Bluetooth technology? It would surprise the average Joe to know that Bluetooth technology is more then just a catch phrase for those wireless headsets the pseudo tech savvy don as a status symbol. This industry standard, backwards compatible technology will put the wiring industry out of business forever! Here are a few items you can readily purchase, which can do things you never thought possible:

In the Home and Office:
BlueStation-T100
Much like a wireless router except it costs less and their tech support isn't in India. If you want to access your network simply plug in the sender to an Ethernet port within 100 feet and the other end you plug into your computer. Wireless internet at the same speeds as the typical 8011 g routers we all use.

Bluetooth Wireless USB Printer Adapter

This USB Adapter adds Bluetooth to any USB adapter in a PC or notebook to let it work with all devices enabled with Bluetooth v1.1 or 2.0 technologies. This allows you to print, synchronize your PDA information, stream information to your phone from up to 300 feet away. You can simultaneously connect with 7 devices at the simultaneously. This simple device is a great invention, I personally have over 40 ring tones I downloaded, cut and sent to my Bluetooth enabled (Sony ericsson z520A) cell phone.

CM3700 MTF
A MTF (multi-function printer), when attached with provided dongle, supports Bluetooth BIP&OPP as a server and a receiver. You can print messages, card, calendar, note, plain text, and image, via Bluetooth. This is the printer you would want to get with the USB adapter. Allegedly this printer can be about 30 feet away and be in sync with the computer.

DEV-PC-1546B

Use this dongle to pair your Bluetooth headset with a VOIP. Walk around your house (better off with an apartment in this scenario) and talk over the internet. Try it with VOIP providers like Skype or Vonage.

Bluetooth Virtual Keyboard

Gone are the days of wireless keyboards interfering with your household appliances. This keyboard will sync with any enabled device wether it be a USB dongle or a Bluetooth enabled PDA. It has a faster data transfer rate then a typical wireless keyboard and an operating distance of over 30 feet.

In Motion:

CDMA W44T
A large capacity music mobile with a 1GB memory, the W44T by Toshiba comes with a built-in Bluetooth receiver that allows immediate wireless access to music.

Bluetooth Enabled Car:
Available almost anywhere as an extra add on. This will cost you roughly $100 if installed by the manufacturer. It allows you to make phone calls via the microphone that comes with installation and hear via your car's stereo speakers and to stream music from your phone or ipod/mp3 player with enabled Bluetooth.

Tom Tom ONE:
This GPS receiver is an alternative to having Bluetooth installed in your car. Not only does it do everything a typical gps does, it can also connect to your car stereo via an output jack to play music off its internal hard drive and it can sync with your Bluetooth phone to provide hands free calling. You can sync this with the blue station (mentioned above) when at home to download maps and firmware updates from Tom Tom from the internet.

Bluetooth Headphones:
If you go running you're fully aware of the nuisance prone headphone cords. The Bluetooth seeks to rid the world of cords and this is no different. With Bluetooth headphones you can stream music from your stereo kit for walking/running wirelessly (see below) and listen to mp3's from your computer which has built in Bluetooth or a dongle.

NaviPlay Wireless Stereo Kit for Ipod:
The Bluetooth-enabled naviPlay adapter is for any Ipod sporting a dock connector. It allows wireless enjoyment of music and remote control. Kit includes naviPlay Stereo Remote for use with any stereo headphone, powered speakers or stereo system.
