I noticed in my last boating adventures with a few friends of their families and mine that some places are very boat unfriendly. I sat there and contemplated what we could do to improve this.

It all started one beautiful Saturday afternoon of boating and a hungry lunchtime favorite came to mind. Bop Pizza located on Broadway, It's a wonderful pizza and more stop. Oven brick pizza with a cold soda listening to music on the jute box was an ideal lunch for us all. We decided the park the boat as close as we could to the dock next to Broadway however it was a very steep leap up to the dock and we had two small children ages 4 and 2 to get up there. My friend decided maybe it was best to pull up to the ladder but it was marked to not use. Which caused us some issues so she then decided to pull up to a used ladder next to but not on the water taxi's area. It was just a drop off for me and my 2 friends and the kids while everyone else climbed up the dock. This is where I find the huge misconduct on the part of the city and the water taxi. The "workers" from the water taxi started to yell at us including cursing even in front of the people docking. Where we told them we were simply unloading for the sake of the children. I found this very not professional and it leads me to think about this.

I know from my prior work experience that boaters bring in a large profit to the harbor. And I'm sure with more availability to the harbor and areas such as Fells Point we could bring the city up more and make the city a better place overall. My friends love to shop in the city but hate the traffic and parking and this would help them and their family with more options and help those businesses as well.

So my final words are this, advice to the city. Make boating more accessible to the popular places and easier for families. Bring this city back to life even in this recession with our local boaters and the boaters coming in from different states and even countries Baltimore is a city filled with culture and history and it makes me proud to say I live here and I want the whole world to know Baltimore is a wonderful place to visit. I'm always up for a new way to improve our beautiful city and change it's reputation around!
