Mitt Romney's presidential campaign gained a little more steam by announcing that former Congressman Bob Beauprez (Republican for Colorado) has endorsed former Governor Romney's presidential bid in a press release on Mitt Romney's website. Congressman Beauprez will travel to Iowa today to begin campaigning for Governor Romney. He will also advise Romney throughout his presidential campaign.

Romney said in the same press release regarding Congressman Beauprez, "Congressman Beauprez has had a distinguished career serving his community, his state and his nation. He has never stopped working to ensure that future generations would find a Colorado better than it is today. He will be a powerful surrogate for our message of strengthening the American people through lower taxes, less government regulation and stronger national defense."

Congressman Beauprez has a similar background to Governor Romney in some respects. Before becoming a member of Congress, Beauprez was a thriving farmer and businessman. The press release reports that Beauprez was involved with breeding Holstein cattle and built his company, Beauprez Holsteins, into an internationally recognized business. He later sold the business and created a successful golf course.

Later, Beauprez invested efforts into revitalizing a local bank, whose assets rose from 4 million to over 400 million during Beauprez's tenure there. He was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2002. Beauprez was also the Republican nominee for the Governor of Colorado in 2006. Today, he operates a website and e-magazine called "Line of Sight." This site explores an abundance of policy issues and gives readers an inside look at Congressman Beauprez's views promoting a common-sense approach to solving difficult policy issues.

In the press release, Congressman Beauprez described Governor Romney as the "right candidate to lead America forward." He also referenced Governor Romney's multitude of successes in the private sector as evidence of Romney's ability to "take Washington apart and put it back together."

Much of Governor Romney's career was spent successfully helping businesses grow. As Governor of Massachusetts, Romney revitalized the state's economy. Tens of thousands of new jobs have been added to the Massachusetts economy as a result of Romney's efforts. He also instituted an educational system that provides top performing Massachusetts high school students with full-tuition scholarships to any Massachusetts public university. Additionally, Romney put in place a system that made certain every citizen of Massachusetts had health insurance.

Governor Romney has performed well in each of the presidential debates in which he has participated and has emerged as a serious contender for the Republican presidential nomination, especially among the conservative right in America. Romney has revealed an optimistic and forward thinking view of America. With the new help of Congressman Beauprez, Romney will continue to charge forward in hopes of landing in the White House.
