Bob Becomes the Oldest Winner During Survivor Gabon

Reality Rehash
After 39 days it was time for the final Tribal Council and time to crown the winner of Survivor Gabon. Before we could get to the end we had to start at the final five. After voting out Crystal things were not looking good for Kenny. He came back to camp with everyone celebrating their move of voting of Kenny. They were all congratulating themselves for the final five and surprisingly, Kenny was rather quiet. The next morning Sugar was working on her plan. She wants to go to the end with Matty and Bob but still wants Kenny on her side. While going for the tree mail she worked on Kenny, why he still trusts her I have no idea.

In tree mail they all received warrior dress and paint so they were geared up for the immunity. Bob looked rather odd, running around in a mini skirt but the others looked Gabon-like. The first part of the challenge had the final five digging under a gate with Susie beating everyone out, surprisingly. She was also the first across the raised plank maze. Everyone followed behind and made it through around the same time. The last part saw the survivors searching through random huts for three bags of puzzle pieces. Bob, Sugar and Matty, followed by Kenny, found their bags. Susie never found her last bag, putting her back where she belonged: the bottom. In the end the hut puzzle came down to Sugar and Bob. Bob ended up pulling out the puzzle just in time to win his fifth challenge in a row. I have a feeling he'll probably make that six in a row pretty darn soon.

Back at camp Kenny decided to not pull any moves and just relax. He thought Sugar was going to do all the work and Susie would be the next to go. Um does he not realize what game he is playing? Susie was also worried that she could be going, although Matty told her otherwise. She hasn't played the game this entire time, other then voting our Marcus, and Susie realized this. At Tribal Council Susie let everyone know she isn't playing a strategic game. The jury laughed at the statement, since its true, but does give her a good chance for an easy beat in the end. Sugar was the decision maker, once again, and decided to send Kenny home at Tribal Council. Kenny continued to think he was safe, but still wanted Bob's idol. Bob called him out for the part of the deal where Kenny wanted to send Bob home, after giving him the idol. It was stupid for Kenny to still think the deal was on and because of that I think he really deserved to go.

The next was the 2nd to last and it was time for the last immunity and the rite of passage. Before leaving Susie realized that she had to win the final immunity in order to stay. She wasn't oblivious to the Sugar/Matty/Bob alliance and Matty even told her she had to win to stay. Over at Exile Island the final four walked amongst their fallen comrades. They said a few words about each, well except for Randy that is, and ended with the burning of each voted out Survivor's mask. As they reached the top of the hill a group of Gabonese were waiting and chanting. There they concluded their passage and moved onto the final immunity challenge of the season. (Just a personal comment here, I really wish it was back to final two!)

With the rite of passage over it was time for the final immunity challenge, and oh what a challenge it was. Changing it up a bit, the final four had to compete in a house of cards building challenge. They were each given 200 tiles and simply had to build them up. The person who reached 10 feet first, or the person with the highest house after 30 minutes would win the final immunity. Bob was out of it the entire time, surprisingly, as his house never got past 3 feet. Both Sugar and Susie had rather high houses several times, but each had their house fall around three times. Matty's house never fell but he moved slowly with a stable house. In the end Susie had the highest house with three minutes left. She stopped, hoping it was high enough and not knocking it over. Matty and Sugar raced to get theirs just as high but in the end Sugar's house collapsed and Matty's was just short. That gave Susie the final immunity win, which is very shocking both to us and them. Who would have thought Susie would win not one but two individual immunity challenges? Susie has a shot at the million and winning that challenge could just give her a shot at actually winning.

Following Susie's major win she just wouldn't shut up. Time after time we heard "I can't believe I won" and everyone was getting a bit annoyed. Bob snapped at her, as all were acting like Bob was going. Matty and Sugar both realized they couldn't beat Bob so it was obvious that he would probably go. But wait! Sugar had a change of heart. Feeling as if Bob was like her father, Sugar wanted to force a tie and force Matty and Bob to square off to see who would leave. They left for Tribal Council with Sugar still undecided and there the decision still wasn't made until the last minute. Sugar cried her way through Jeff's question, calling both Matty and Bob like family and making them both cry in return. She ended up pulling the tie and sent both to a fire making station. Bob was preparing back at camp but we know it all comes down to luck, with Susie winning the first immunity featuring fire.

Bob started of strong with his practice paying off. He got fire before Matty and it seemed like no contest, well until his fire went out. He was able to get his flame back before Matty even got a spark, showing just who deserved to be there. Bob's fire was staying lit this time while Matty kept trying for a spark. There really was no chance for Matty in the end as Bob's fire was no where near going out. In the end Bob was able to claim a spot in the final three, probably guaranteeing him the win. The jury, well at least Corinne, was happy but how would the others reward the moves both Sugar, Bob and Susie made? Their last day in Gabon was about to begin as their power was gone as the game turned over to the jury members.

On their final day the final three feasted on breakfast foods, provided by the producers, and got ready for their last tribal. They decided to burn down the camp, leading many to think during previews that it burned down by accident. Susie seemed very confident that she could get a few votes while Bob seemed to believe he had to fight for votes. Um Bob, you're the guy everyone loves, don't you remember? Sugar felt she deserved to win since she did play a game and probably does deserve to win. Sugar has played one of the best games in a long time, she may have been emotional but she made moves that some would never dream of making. At Tribal Council it was time for their opening statements. Susie let everyone know that her confident was built thanks to the game. Bob wanted everyone to throw him a vote for outlasting them. While Sugar let them all know that she played the game and lied since "it's part of the game".

It was then time for jury questioning and you could tell some were excited to rip into the final three. Corinne still hates Sugar, and its obvious she won't get her vote. Randy was also a bit peeved, but he was more so at Bob. Surprisingly he may actually vote for Sugar, something I never would have expected. Charlie was up first and made a joke of his questions. Crystal and Kenny both focused on Sugar, seeming like they were trying to push Bob's name down while pushing for Sugar to win. Corinne was next and it was obvious she was there just to bash people. She told Susie to rip out her vocal cords and bashed Sugar for crying and being a "low life". It was pointless but I guess she was just trying to top Sue's infamous rat/mouse line. Randy was next and was better then I though. He ripped both Sugar and Bob apart, lightly, for how they pulled the fake idol. It seemed like he was leaning towards Bob but it was still unknown. That left Marcus up next and somewhat odd as it seemed like he would vote for Bob. In the end his question leaned more towards Sugar, so he could be the swing vote for the win. Matty was last and wanted Bob to say why Sugar/Susie deserved the win over him. He said they didn't while Sugar once again cried about voting out Kenny.

Now that the final questions were over it was time to vote and switch over to the live segment. Everyone was geared up and Jeff began to read the votes. Back in the states it was time for Jeff revealed the votes. Bob and then Susie received a vote followed by Susie getting two more. Where were all these Susie votes coming from any why? Bob then received two more, tieing it up. Sugar, sadly, received no votes yet she really did deserved to. Bob received the final vote, crowing him the oldest winner of the game and giving him the $1,000,000 check.

That ends this season of Survivor Gabon. There were some amazing moments this season and although the best player didn't win, it was overall a great finale. Survivor Tocantins premieres in February so see you back then for the next Survivor!
