Bob Dobbs: A Bar with the Best Burger in Tucson, Arizona

Very rarely will you ever hear someone say that the best burger they ever had was at a bar. When one thinks of bar food, images of old, stale peanuts and old carrot sticks seem to come up their minds. Not in the case of Bob Dobbs. Located just a few blocks from the University of Arizona, Bob Dobbs is a hole in the wall bar that seems to be Tucson's best-kept secret. Good for the locals, keep it that way.

The Bob Burger is a mixture of hunks of garlic, Worcester sauce and a few other well-kept secret ingredients that I could never get the owners to divulge, nor could I replicate in several kitchen catastrophes. It is a taste unlike any other that I have ever experienced and one that I am sure you have never either. Served with skinny fries and a beer, this makes for the perfect Friday afternoon meal.

There are also many other offerings on the menu that make it even more of an awesome dining experience. They offer a half rack of ribs with meat that seems to fall off the bone and soups that are made almost as good as your Mom makes them.

Bob Dobbs is also the home of many a rugby team. The University of Arizona Men and Women's rugby team can be seen there on a very regular basis and after games it is usually packed with ruggers looking for a way to wind down. Many of Tucson's men's league rugby teams are also frequent visitors.

And it is the only bar I have ever been to where graffiti is encouraged. The white walls are covered with drawings, sayings, autographs and more, of those that have come and gone since the establishment has been around. "So and so was here" is more the minority in a majority of "ASU sucks" or "Go to hell ASU." (ASU is Arizona State University, the in state rival of the U of A Wildcats).
