After doing a lot of research, the one they chose was the BOB jogging stroller. They had decided on this even before they got pregnant. The jogging stroller was durable enough to do their off road jogging and yet could also be used on pavement. This meant it had multiple capabilities for jogging or just plain pleasure walking.
The BOB has a five point harness, which means it is much safer in securing your baby in place. If you are doing off road or even on pavement you want to know your baby is not going to come flying out of the stroller or bouncing up and down due to the harness not fitting right.
The frame is lightweight aluminum as to not add any more addition weight than possible. This lightweight construction also makes it easier to lift when transporting in a vehicle.
The large wheels have quick releases so they can come off it doesn't fit right in your vehicle, making storage much more compact.
The jogging stroller has a suspension system that adjusts to the weight of your child and for different road conditions.
Most regular strollers do not recline far enough for new born babies. The jogging stroller reclines much farther down.
The price was comparable or less to many other jogging strollers with the same features.
On September 14, 2007, my new grandson was born.
Five days after his birth he was out cruising around in his jogging stroller. He could not wait to meet the neighborhood. With the stroller straddling between the sidewalk and the grass there was not a rough ride to be had. He could not hold up his head yet, but with the stroller reclining so well this was not an issue. The cracks in the sidewalk and the up and down on the curves did not cause any extra bouncing around. The suspension system absorbed all the bouncing. This could not have been done had they had a traditional stroller. I know because I have tried it with my other grandchildren.
Tonight my grandson is going to his first high school football game. One week old and he will be riding in style with his BOB jogging stroller
