Bob Knight as Congressman Knight - Could Be Fun

Jacob Horn
If you have read some of my previous blogs, you can probably tell that I am trying to catch up on some writing I wanted to do a few weeks ago. My sister got me the audiobook 'Racing to Win.' It was written by Joe Gibbs and Ken Abraham and it is really a pretty good book. I thought it provided a lot of good advice to help anybody live the best life they can but this is not a book review. As I listened to the audiotape I found myself admiring the man more and more. I mean who says bad things about themselves in their own audiobook, but with that being said by all accounts Joe Gibbs is a standup character. About halfway through the audiobook I began to think that we need men like Joe Gibbs in public office and I began to consider others (sports figures) who would make good politicians. Here is my list.

1. Joe Gibbs

We will go ahead and get him out of the way since I have already talked about him in the opening paragraph. He is second to none and I think he would serve any district or group of people well.

2. Tony Dungy

I am not a huge fan of Tony Dungy but he seems to be a man of conviction and morals. My only struggle with him is that he seems to insert himself into anything dealing with race. I should not judge to harshly because he may not insert himself, he may get inserted through other ways. With all that being said, I would feel better about our political system with a man of his integrity in Washington D.C.

3. Bob Knight

I know this one is crazy and is probably the least likely but just imagine for a moment. B-Rock Obama gave us this message of hope that has gone by the wayside in his first year. We had the wrong B. We needed B-ob Knight. Partisan politics are at an all time high and Obama was suppose to be the savior of the world. He has been the most partisan of all. If you could pick one person to go to Washington D.C. and truly shake things up, who would it be? Bob Knight for sure. If there is one person who could be above political games and truly do what is right for this country it would be Bob Knight. Would he have his slip ups? Yes, many of them. Would you feel better about this country if Bob Knight were involved in the political process and decision making? I truly believe most people would say yes.
