Bob Seger Comes Home

Last week rocker Bob Seger and his Silver Bullet Band came home to Detroit for three shows in at the Palace of Auburn Hills on his first tour in five years.

Each show at featured a hometown opener beginning with the Rockets on Tuesday, Jill Jack on Thursday and Frankie Ballard on Saturday.

Thursday's show began with a solid performance from Jack who was thrilled to be opening for the legend.

Seger began his tour back in March and has been racking up rave reviews throughout the tour as his voice has gotten stronger.

Thursday he more than proved that his age and his long hiatus from the stage meant nothing as he pulled out a over two hour set filled with songs that touched on every aspect of his long career including some rarities.
From start to finish the sold out crowd was enthusiastically swaying and singing along.

Seger opened the show with the hard hitting "Roll Away" and continued on with rock staples like "Old Time Rock & Roll" and "Katmandu".

The highlight of the set was the smooth juxtaposition between "Travelin' Man" and "Beautiful Loser" and a powerful performance of "Turn the Page".

Seger closed the show with a double encore featuring "Against The Wind", "Hollywood Nights", "Night Moves" and "Rock and Roll Never Forgets".

There is talk that he will be setting out on another tour later this Summer but there have been no official dates added yet.

Seger is currently working on his 17th album which is planned to be released later this Summer.
