If you're looking for a nice weekend brunch spot in the LA or Ventura County area, check out Boccaccio's in Westlake Village. Their a la cart Saturday and Sunday brunch menu offers a moderate range of delicious choices at reasonable prices, with most selections offered for around $10-12.

Boccaccio's restaurant, seated in the Conejo Valley, is located in The Landing shopping center at 32123 Lindero Canyon Rd. Guests can choose from indoor or outdoor seating; both offer gorgeous views of the lake and the docks, but in nice weather, sitting outside is the only way to go.

The Menu

The Saturday and Sunday brunch menu at Boccaccio's isn't expansive, but is fairly extensive. All the major bases are covered, and the execution of the dishes more than ensures there will be something to please everyone. Choose from Filet Mignon and Eggs, a Huntsman Breakfast, or a Smoked Salmon Platter, or go for a Vegetarian Omelet or French Toast. You won't be disappointed.

When we visited Boccaccio's in July 2011, the Traditional Eggs Benedict were delicious; the eggs were poached correctly, the Hollandaise sauce was perfectly balanced and served on the side, as requested. The hash browns were crispy potato perfection, and the bacon was cooked until crisp. The fresh fruit was a nice touch.

Service and Setting

Boccaccio's is upscale dining with a casual feel. Gentlemen may want to don a tie and slacks for dinner, but for brunch and lunch, a polo shirt and khaki shorts would be fine. Set on the lake, guests can enjoy looking at the boats docked nearby, or even watch as the wait staff delivers take-away orders to boaters waiting in the restaurants dockside to-go slip. Shade umbrellas at each outdoor table ensure comfortable dining, even on hot days. After you eat, take a stroll along the lake to take some pictures or burn off some of the calories from that rich, delicious meal you just ate!

The service was low-key, friendly and professional. Our waiter was unobtrusive as he performed his duties, served us without error and bid us "Bon appetit!" as he presented us with our meals.

General Impression

Boccaccio's was a wonderful place to enjoy Sunday brunch, and we've been told it is also a choice dinner spot. We would definitely return, and recommend this location to anyone looking for a romantic or picturesque place to have a meal, and take a walk afterward. You can also explore the rest of The Landing shopping center while you're in the area.

One last very important note for foodies: the bread was fabulous!
