A body wrap consists of having your body coated with a clay or herbal substance. There are many different methods used in body wraps. Some prefer to use a clay or mud on the skin while others prefer using a herbal solution. Some may even combine the two forms together. The body is then wrapped firmly with bandages or linens and allowed to sit for approximately 45 minutes to an hour. During this time, the body is kept warm either by lights, a blanket or even a special warmth suit that is placed on the person after they have been wrapped.
The clay or herbs that are used work to pull toxins from the skin. These toxins in the skin create small pockets of air, which are compressed by the tightly wrapped bandages. This compression is what causes the inch loss to occur. Loosing inches however, should be the last thing on your mind when having a body wrap done. Instead, you should focus on how good the treatment is for your skin.
The removal of harmful toxins and chemicals by the clay or herbs helps to clear up many skin conditions. If you suffer from acne or even worse, boils, a body wrap will help remove dirt and toxins from your pores and cleanse the skin, causing the acne and boils to disappear. If you are a smoker, body wraps will even pull nicotine from your skins pores which many people don't even know is there!
Body wraps promote clean skin, which results in a healthy skin tone. Many conditions such as psoriasis and eczema can be treated using body wraps and can cause these conditions to fade or completely disappear. They help to keep skin properly moisturized, which is a necessity for having healthy, clear skin.
Body wraps are also a great natural remedy for flaccid skin that people can encounter after periods of rapid weight loss. They help to tighten up skin and keep it from sagging, and are much safer than many surgical or medical procedures that claim to do the same thing. Another cosmetic benefit body wraps have is that they reduce cellulite appearance, and in minor cases can completely remove it.
If you suffer from a skin condition, body wraps can help to naturally heal your condition. Even if you do not suffer from a skin problem, body wraps can naturally help pull toxins from your skin and keep your skin healthy and in prime condition. Having a body wrap done is like taking your skin off and washing it in a washing machine. Once you have had one, you'll be amazed at how wonderful your skin feels, and will certainly be looking forward to your next session!
