Bodycology Bath & Body Products

Laura Lond
The Bodycology line of bath & body products offers a nice variety of lotions, soaps, shower gels, body butters and creams. The products are of good quality, nicely packaged, and not very expensive.

Each Bodycology product comes in seven different fragrances:

  • White Gardenia
  • Peach Mango
  • Lime & Coconut
  • Passion Fruit
  • Juicy Pomegranate
  • Sparkling Grapefruit
  • Vanilla & Butterscotch
Of course, when it comes to fragrance, a lot depends on our personal taste and preferences. I would say that White Gardenia is the best: it is a very delicate floral scent, slightly different from product to product, but always pleasant and relaxing. Peach Mango is also very nice, it will appeal to most fans of fruity fragrances, as well as Passion Fruit. Lime & Coconut is a very interesting combination; you can distinctly smell both coconut and lime, and the two scents work well together. On the other hand, Vanilla & Butterscotch, in my opinion, is not a very good idea. The resulting scent seems to me somewhat unnatural, and a bit too strong. Passion Fruit is very pleasant, and so is Sparkling Grapefruit. Juicy Pomegranate is somewhat neutral, neither sweet nor fruity, but also good.

Bodycology Foaming Bath & Shower Gel is my favorite of the products. As the name indicates, it can be used both for shower and bath, and it works great either way. When used in a bath tub, it produces plentiful bubbles that last for a while and then gradually subside, which makes it easy to rinse them away. As a shower gel, the product creates foams well on the sponge, creating creamy lather. In both cases, it leaves the skin clean and noticeably soft.

My second favorite is Bodycology Bath Bombs. These are excellent when you want to take a long, relaxing bath. The "bombs" are usually sold in packs of three. They are round, the size of a tennis ball. When placed in water, they begin to quickly dissolve, releasing fragrance. There is no foam, so the bombs can be safely used in Jacuzzi tubs. The only drawback is that those in darker colors, like Juicy Pomegranate, leave colored residue that will require some scrubbing to remove. Light colored bombs don't do that.

Next, I would put Bodycology Body Mist. It comes in a clear plastic spray bottle of two sizes, 2 fl.oz. and 8 fl.oz. The body mist contains Aloe Vera and conditions the skin in the addition to making it smell nice. The fragrance is mild and long lasting.

Bodycology Body Butter comes in a 7.4 oz round jar. It contains 20% of pure shea butter and has profound moisturizing effect. The body butter is to be warmed in the hand and then rubbed into the skin, especially drier areas like elbows and knees. The product also has vitamins A and E and a mild natural sunscreen.

Bodycology Body Cream is somewhat similar, only it is not so thick in texture. It comes in a 8 fl.oz. "upside-down" tube. This body cream also contains shea butter and aloe vera, it conditions and moistens well.

Bodycology Sugar Scrub helps to remove dry skin. The product is to be applied on damp skin (the best way to do it right after showering) and gently rubbed in until the little crystals in contains dissolve. Then you rinse the scrub off, and enjoy softened, renewed skin.

There is, however, one black sheep in the family, and it is Bodycology Body Bar. It is a soap bar and sponge actually fused together. The natural glycerin soap is good, but this fusing idea just doesn't work. You cannot get the soap lather through the sponge, so you have to turn it around, and if you want to use the sponge you'll have to hold onto the wet, slippery soap bar. Whoever came up with this one didn't think well.

Bodycology products are sold in many stores and online, separately and in nicely packaged gift sets. As I have already mentioned, they are not overpriced (around $4-6, depending on the product).

Alright, so I love this soap! My grandma bought some and she had it in her bathroom and she liked it a lot also. Now she can't remember where she bought it from! Do you know where Bodycology prodcuts are sold? If you did you would be my grandma's hero!
