My car had been making a strange noise whenever I turned the steering wheel, and in the beginning I ignored it because it was so subtle, but when it became extremely loud one day, I knew I had to get to the mechanic quickly! From the sound of the problem, I was sure it was the axle or something similar that needed replacing. I was also aware of the fact that axles are usually expensive to repair and I only had $100 to spare, so I was nervous as I pulled into Bolick's Discount Tire. I became even more nervous when I described the problem to the mechanic who greeted me and he suggested that it might be the axle as well. I was starting a new job the next week and I needed my car, but if it cost $300 or $400 to repair, there was no way I'd be able to get it fixed.
The mechanic went outside to test drive the car in order to determine what the problem was. I was in utter shock when the mechanic quickly came back in, telling me that my car had "fallen apart" right there in the parking lot and there was no way it could be driven. Dollar signs started dancing in my head. Fortunately, though, the mechanic explained that the outer tire rod had broken off and would cost $100 to repair. I breathed a sigh of relief, but I also felt somewhat nervous because all I had to spare was $100 even, and I was sure there would be tax.
To my surprise, the tire rod was repaired quickly and only cost $100 even, which was awesome. I now go to Bolick's Discount Tire for a majority of my car repairs, including oil changes, because the mechanics there are honest and I like the fact that they don't add tax to their prices. Since I'm a woman, the mechanics could have easily have told me that it was in fact the axle and I wouldn't have known any differently. I've been a victim of this before, so I know how widespread dishonest mechanics are. I really lucked out that day when I discovered how wonderful they were at Bolick's Discount Tire, and I would recommend them to anyone in the area.
