Mother of Slain Gangster Sues Production Company

A distraught mother is suing the producers of the film "Shootout At Lokhandwala" over the way she is portrayed in the movie. The Bollywood film is based on the real life accounts of her son gangster Maya Dolas, played by Viveik Oberoi. The film takes on the story about group of gangsters who were gunned down by the Mumbai police in 1991.

The mother of Maya Dolas sent production house White Feather a legal notice contesting the notion that she encouraged her son to become a gangster.

In a press conference, defending the film, director Sanjay Gupta stated that the mother of Dolas has not seen the film.

"Shootout At Lokhandwala" has been cleared by the censors. This means there will be no cuts made to film in spite of its bloody and violent content. The film will open May 25th.
