Boma serves up both breakfast and dinner, but it's the well-known breakfast buffet that really hits the mark. Its setting is a vibrant African marketplace that will undoubtedly make you feel as though you've reached the Dark Continent. Disney is well-known for paying close attention to every detail, and Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is certainly no exception.
You will start your Boma breakfast buffet experience with a glass of orange juice, or better yet, a tall glass of West African Frunch. Remember the name of it, because you are bound to fall in love; it is a unique combination of lemonade, pineapple juice, guava juice, orange juice, and papaya juice, and it is downright delicious.
Then it's up and over to the breakfast buffet. I've never been a big fan of buffets, but the breakfast buffet at Boma is somewhat unique. You don't necessarily start at one end and make your way across. Boma sets out pods, each of which contains a different selection of foods. There is hardly any waiting, despite the fact that Boma fills up daily. And there is usually a chef nearby to answer any questions you might have.
You will be selecting from pastries, seasonal fresh fruits, dried fruits, cereals, pancakes and waffles, omelets, bacon, sausage and ham, scrambled eggs, brioche, pap, oatmeal, porridge, bobotie, breakfast pizzas, cured pork loin, and yes, carved breakfast ham.
The beverage servers are excellent and quick on the draw. You won't go thirsty, and if you need your caffeine, you will get that, too.
Breakfast is served at Boma from 7:30 to 11 a.m., and you should arrive well before you are starving, just in case you have to wait a while to get a table. The prices are very reasonable, considering the atmosphere and quality of food, and of course, the fact that it is all-you-can-eat. The price is $16.99 per adult, and $9.99 per child ages three to nine.
Enjoy the Boma breakfast buffet at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge in Orlando.

Post a CommentGreat review. I love great breakfast buffet.
Excellent review~Sounds wonderful!
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is my favorite on-site Disney resort and you are right -- Boma is great! I also love Jiko for dinner, featuring wine and dishes from Africa. I got to experience both when I was at Walt Disney World for my "Disney Bootcamp" for travel agents. I encourage anyone who can make time to have breakfast or to just check out the resort to do so!
Sounds yummy!
