Bombs Bursting in Air

A 4th of July Tribute

Diane Zoller-Ciatto

On the battlefield

So long in the past

Our freedom frighters stood

Against each murderous blast!

They held their ground

Young and old alike

Till the battle was won

Until the last strike!

Our freedom was won

By our forefathers blood

George Washington lead them

Through rain, snow and mud!

So many battles

Across our vast land

Till England understood

Our unyielding demand!

On the 4th of July

At the rockets red glare

May the fireworks proclaim USA

The greatest land anywhere!
