The prisoners are donating money to help defer the cost of the bone marrow testing. On Friday and Saturday, the jail will also host bone marrow drives in an effort to find a match for the boy. Smith will die without a transplant.
The first drive at the jailhouse will be held on Friday, January 30, 2009, from 8:30 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. This will be followed by a second drive at the jailhouse on Saturday, January 31, 2009, from 12 noon until 3:00 P.M., which corresponds with the drive scheduled at the Elkhorn Elementary School.
Any who who can attend and be tested are encouraged to do so. Please, help us to save this promising young boy's life.
