We meet twice a month and our second meeting is usually a social evening out. We were all so pleased with our restaurant selection for this month, Bonefish Grill. The management, chefs, bartenders and servers should be commended for their dedicated customer service, pleasant dispositions and delicious food and drinks. Sometimes a large group of chatty women can be a bit daunting to deal with, but our servers did not miss a beat. After serving us our cocktails (they make one awesome Raspberry Martini - $7.4), they were attentive, friendly, and pleasantly explained all of our food selections. We started out with a fresh Ceviche of shrimp & fish that had a deliciously spicy kick. We also shared the Bang Bang Shrimp ($8.3) and the Singapore Calamari ($6.9) which were presented beautifully and tasted amazing.
Next, we enjoyed the Bonefish House Salad ($4.9) which is a delightful mix of greens, pine nuts, Kalamata olives, hearts of palm accompanied by a citrus-herb vinaigrette, which was nicely served on the side. Our main courses arrived and were on par with the rest of our delectable meal. We shared two types of Cedar Planked Salmon, Grilled Grouper ($19.9) and a succulent Sea Scallops and Shrimp dish ($16.4).
The restaurant was hopping and had a full dining room full of guests - always a good sign in my book. Even though this is part of a large national chain of restaurants, you don't get the feeling of being in a "chain" restaurant. Tonight, the restaurant was on the busy side, but we never felt rushed. Our servers continued to fill our waters, take additional drink orders and, of course, served desserts to cap off our fun filled evening. The Strawberry Shortcake was simply divine with its perfect pairing of an authentic "shortcake" with fresh plump strawberries drizzled with a vanilla sauce and topped with real whipped cream. Even though this dish was delightful, it could not compete with the Macadamia Nut Brownie ($5.5) which is any woman's dream of a moist chocolate brownie drizzled with a raspberry sauce and paired with creamy vanilla ice cream. My table mate remarked, "What can be better than this? I mean, chocolate does have a calming effect". I wholeheartedly agreed and this dessert had us all letting out a big comforting sigh of delight.
Two of the managers even stopped by our table to see how our evening was going. They were very gracious and made us all feel welcome. If you have a local business group looking to have an exceptional dinner out, then Bonefish Grill should be at the top of your list. It's also a perfect place for a date night or a Girls' Night Out. For families, they have a great selection of kids' meals that include a beverage and choice of fresh veggies or French fries and a gluten free menu is also available.
