As is the case with numerous business trips, I was dining alone but still wanted a decent meal for the evening. I decided to try the Bonefish Grill in Macon and stopped by around 6:00 p.m. with no reservations. The place was fairly crowded with several patrons at the bar on one side of the restaurant as well as the dining room. However, I was greeted and seated promptly by the hostess. I was immediately welcomed by my waitress Julie who took my drink order. I decided on a glass of Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay which was brought to my table swiftly by another server.
Julie returned to my table a few minutes later and shared the specials of the day. I was surprised to find that the establishment had a host of dishes that were not fish. Pastas and steaks were available but fish would be my favorite dish for the night. I decided to begin my meal with the Bonefish Grill house salad. The house salad is a bed of fresh crisp greens, spring mix, hearts of palm, Kalamata olives, tomatoes and freshly roasted pine nuts with citrus herb vinaigrette. Julie also brought out some fresh hot bread served with a pesto dip.
In no time at all, my entrée arrived. I selected a large portion of Chilean Sea Bass with a lemon butter sauce. The fish was grilled over a wood-fire grill and had an excellent flavor to suit my taste. The dish was served with herb jasmine rice with a vegetable medley. The vegetable medley was a delicious blend of corn, red peppers, and edame steamed to perfection.
One of the very best aspects of the restaurant was the service. My waitress Julie was extremely attentive and cordial. Unfortunately, I do not experience excellent service like this on a regular basis. Likewise, the manager identified himself as Stuart and made a trip to my table to check my satisfaction with the meal.
Overall, I experienced a very enjoyable time at the Bonefish Grill. I highly recommend trying your nearest location. I will certainly return to this particular establishment in the future.
