With similarities to real life, fans can be assured that "Bones" writers have provided them with life like stories for their enjoyment. In Episode 17, Dr. Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) connect with Canadian Podiatrist, Dr. Douglas Filmore (Scott Lowell). With his right arm paralyzed, Dr. Filmore shares with fans and Agent Booth how Dr. Brennan had ripped apart Dr. Filmore's book regarding a forensic podiatrist as a professional.
Fans who know Dr. Brennan understand right off that she has no empathy for the fight and flight of Dr. Filmore's profession in the field of forensics. However, needing the feet of the one victim, which lies on Canadian soil, Dr. Brennan invites Dr. Filmore and his feet to the Smithsonian.
Bug lover, Dr. Jack Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) is in a state of confusion due to thee varieties of bugs found on the Canadian sides feet. While Tempe takes Booth to the University of Hogansburg Body Farm Dr. Filmore is learning that an expensive pair of sneakers found at the scene belong to the feet brought to the U.S.
This episode shares with us an intimate look at Cam (Tamara Taylor) the head of the department, and not an acceptable side of her either. Cam has done an underhanded deed for her adopted daughter by submitting false information to Columbia University on the college application. After receiving an acceptance letter, Cam speaks with Dr. Sweets (John Francis Daley) on how to explain it to Michelle (Tiffany Hines). Dr. Sweets indicates to Cam that he is disappointed and states to her, "What kind of role model are you presenting to Michelle?" The dark side of Cam is understandable, but she needs to step up and explain herself and change her ways if she intends to raise Michelle and help her obtain a strong sense of self-accomplishment.
Even though this episode shares the pursuit and capture of a murderer, viewers discover some inner workings of the characters that make up the series "Bones." It is a delightful series and a terrific time for fans when we get a simple glimpse into the minds, and emotions of favorite characters.
