Bonne Bell Smackers Starburst Orange Shower Gel

About a year and a half ago, I found Bonne Bell's Smackers Starburst Orange shower gel at a bargain, close-out discount store. It was around Christmas time, so I bought it as a stocking stuffer for my son-we both love good orange scented products, and they're not easy to find. He also loves Starburst candy, so I thought if anything, it would be a novel little present.

I didn't even smell it before buying it; it was so inexpensive (a buck!) and I'm quite familiar with Bonne Bell's quality scents, so I knew it would be worth it. I got it home, took a whiff, and-oh my, was it ever yummy!

It smells quite like the Starburst orange flavored candy tastes, but also brings to mind a sea of orange cream sodas, orange creamsicles, and fluffy sugar-spun clouds, laced with juicy orange and cream...you get the idea. If you're a lover of orange scented things, this is the shower gel for you.

Since buying that first bottle of it over a year ago, I assumed it had been discontinued, hence its place and price at the close-out store. I'm really not a good product shopper-I rarely browse through aisles of mainstream drugstores and department stores; I like bargains, so unless there's a product to which I am absolutely attached, I buy from discount stores, which have constantly changing stock.

At the grocery store the other day, I was walking by the personal care section, and on an endcap, what did I happen to spy, but Bonne Bell Smackers Starburst Orange Shower Gel, as well as conditioner and shampoo. Also, it was available in another scent-strawberry.

Obviously, my assumption it had been one of those grab-it-while-you-can, short-lived, gimmicky products was wrong. I was quite pleased to see the price tag too-it was only $3.95, in a grocery store of all places, where high prices for toiletries and the like are the notorious norm.

I smelled the strawberry, and it is very nice-again, quite similar to its real Starburst candy counterpart. Anyone who loves Starburst candy will love both the shower gels. While I originally purchased the shower gel for my son (along with the candy idea, the packaging seems marketed to kids and teens) and he loved it; I used it myself, and I think I appreciated it even more than he did.

Aside from the amazing, fresh scent I've described, it is simply a high quality shower gel. It is surprisingly thicker than most similarly priced and marketed products, and perhaps best of all, the lather is very frothy and rich. Starburst Orange shower gel is suitable for the entire family. Nicely too, as mentioned, there are other products in the Starburst line to try.
