Book Club Party Ideas

destiny
Being a part of a book club can be lots of fun, but hosting a party to discuss the book of the month is even better. Book clubs typically meet once a month to discuss their feelings about a book that the group is reading. If you're considering starting a book club of your own and you're not quite sure about choosing books for the group, don't worry because you have several options. The first thing you will want to do is think about the kind of books that you think everyone would enjoy and the type of readers that you will want in your group.

What type of books do you enjoy reading? Remember your group will be a reflection of you, so get with other readers that share in some of your interests, For instance you may be considering asking some of your church members to be a part of your book club. If you choose to do so, maybe you all could read Christian novels like The Shack written by William P. Young or inspirational books like Become a Better You written by Joel Osteen or you could simply read what other book clubs are reading. A great book club to follow is Oprah Winfrey's Book Club because they choose from a wide variety of books every month. Go to www.oprah.com to learn more about this book club.

Book clubs usually have a intimate feeling to them, so when it comes to serving food you can go several ways. Serving wine with some Summer Sausage, grapes and some cheese and crackers is always a winner or you can do a light dinner for the group. The dinner doesn't have to be too extravagant, maybe you could serve some Rotisserie chicken and a salad and maybe some type of bread and for dessert, you can serve some pound cake or cookies along with coffee and tea. I'm sure that your guests won't be too picky about the food simply because they're there to discuss the wonderful book of the month.

A book club is a great way for friends to get together once a month and do something that they love. The club will be fun and give you something to look forward to and be a part of. So if you have been considering starting your own book club go for it, although it takes some commitment, but as long as you have other committed people in your group, your book club will do absolutely fine. Happy Reading!
