Ralph is a bunny who likes to play soccer. He gets mad because he does not want to stop playing when his mother asks him to get ready for a birthday party.

He gets in trouble by throwing a temper tantrum when the mother does not allow him to have a piece of coffee cake, which is made for the adults. The last straw, when he is sent to the attic for punishment, is when he spits on the coffee cake.

Ralph may seem to be the bunny that nobody wants. However, he turns out to be the hero of the day. Just shortly after he is punished, three foxes show up to make rabbit stew. From an excerpt from the book, they love to quote:

"Tasty bunnies, hop, hop, hop,
Are delicious in the pot.
Simmered, boiled, or as a stew!
Watch out! Here we come for you!"

Through a series of hilarious events, Ralph foils the foxes' scheme by throwing eggs and paint on them In the end, it is his great soccer skills that save the day.

The moral of this book is that Ralph was a misunderstood bunny. Nobody understood why he loved to play soccer. The bunny family included Ralph in the birthday party by playing soccer.

This book shows us that kids are kids. They are bound to get into some sort of trouble. As parents, we must accept the children for who they are. We must focus on the good they do, not just the naughty things.
