I have read all of Frank's previous books and this is a fantastic edition to his repertoire. The Celtic Way of Seeing: Meditations of the Irish Spirit Wheel is Mr. MacEowen's last book before he goes on a much-needed hiatus and it does not disappoint, as it unveils a beautifully moving way of intuitive seeing that he believes reflects the way our Irish ancestors viewed our world.
Through the re-telling of "The Settling of the Manor of Tara," we are introduced to the four Irish airts (five, counting center) and how they each contain aspects of our lives. The seeker is also given meditations and exercises to help balance and invoke the wisdom of each airt within them.
I have been a practitioner of Wicca for the last five years and recently moved into the study and practice of Druidry (October 2006), so I am no stranger to viewing the world from an elemental/directional perspective, but Frank brings the directions so alive within this book; it's hard no to notice how they affect our lives consciously and unconsciously.
I truly appreciate how he does not give his opinions and visions of the Spirit Wheel as set in stone and invites the seeker to meditate upon the Wheel and come up with our own conclusions. That is something rarely found amongst today's teachers. My only compliant is that the book is so epigrammatic. I would have loved to have more written about the wheel and it's practices.
To sum up, I urge anyone studying the ways of the ancient Celts to read this book, as it will truly enrich and help to invoke these creative wisdom energies within your life, spirituality and soul to create balance.
