Lil is a born vampire which means that her parents, both of whom were vampires, procreated in the way that humans do. Made vampires cannot procreate and most born vampires look down their noses upon made vampires. Most vampires are financially successful and are trying to find their vampire eternity mate. And Lil's mother, like any other mother, wants her daughter to be with an eternity mate so that she can procreate so she keeps trying to "fix" Lil up. Most conversations with potential mates involve all the pertinent information necessary to see if the couple is compatible. BOOK EXCERPT "...I have a two-forty fertility rating...How many times can you [have pleasure] in one encounter?...This was the pertinent stuff my mother had mentioned. Fertility ratings were the cinch factor for male eternity mates, while the [pleasure] quotient told the tale for the female. See, female born vamps couldn't just fake it. They had to actually [have pleasure], which released an egg, which gave them a shot at conception. So the more, the better."
While most vampires are trying to find their vampire eternity mate, Lil Marchette is starting her own business because she needs the money. Lil does NOT want to work in the family printing/copying business and she does NOT want to live with her parents. Lil calls her business Dead End Dating, a matchmaking service where she wishes to help sophisticated singles like herself to find eternity mates.
As Lil is trying to get her business started and established, the news is reporting single women that are suddenly missing around the country. And then Lil meets gorgeous made-vampire bounty hunter, Ty Bonner who believes that the serial killer responsible for the missing women is finding the women through matchmaking services. And he wants Lil to contact him if she has any suspicious clients.
Lil is very attracted to Ty but he is a made vampire and she just "can't" act upon that! So Lil is busy fighting her attraction to Ty while she is busy trying to find mates for her clients and she is also trying to solve the serial killer murders and nothing is going quite the way Lil wants it too!
This is a fun book to read. If you have a couple of afternoons for a little light reading, this just might be the book for you.
