Book Review: The Defiant Hero

The Defiant Hero by Suzanne Brockmann is the second book in the Troubleshooters Series. Meg Moore's daughter and grandmother had been kidnapped by terrorists. She Will do anything to save them-including murder! John Nilsson , a Navy SEAL is sent to Washington, DC to help with a hostage situation. The one person he Did not think he would see is Meg. After not seeing her for several years, he still remembers how good it was to hold her. If he helps her escape, his career is over. If he Doesn't help her escape, she'll end up dead.

I originally wanted to read this book because of the beginning of the love story between Alyssa Locke And Sam Starrett from Gone Too Far. It was definitely hot and left you wanting more with where they left off. Anyway, the primary love story between John and Meg is just as good. Meg was married before her husband had died, and John did Not cross the line beyond friendship then. They both loved each other, but never admitted it. John had a Problem with being truthful about his past. That bothered Meg, because her late husband Was cheating behind her back, so she could not deal with secrets and lies.

So, in the very beginning of the book is a chasing game. John has to keep tracking her Down, so she doesn't make a big mistake, so she'll end up dead! There's a lot of trust issues in this book, and noise about age difference, because Meg Is five years older than John. As we all know, age is nothing but a number, and when It comes down to it, later in the book, she realizes that. I love how John never gave up trying to help her. When she ditched him, he always came back and finally she allowed him to stick with her to the very end.

Brockmann still keeps the action Danger and romance strong as usual, you know why she's a bestselling author. In this story the flash back to the past has to do with Meg's grandmother. She is no average granny, as she tells her great granddaughter to ease the fear of being held captive, about her life when she was a girl And the man she met and fell in love with when she was just a teenager. Ah, nobody Can do blasts to the past and weave it so well into the story like Suzanne Brockmann. Another part of the story that I liked was, the grandmother and granddaughter had a Kind of friend in one of the terrorists, who was named Bear. In the end, he proved that he was indeed a true friend. Want a little action on these crazy winter days and nights? Pick this book up. You will not be disappointed.
