So enters our heroine, half-elf Samantha Cosse, a very new private investigator. Samantha was good at finding lost things by sensing where they had been either in a house or in a general area. Unfortunately, Samantha was unable to find even a hint of what or where the Jilin God was located. There wasn't even the slightly hint or clue where it had EVER been.
From the beginning Samantha and Paen were attracted to each other and after awhile, Samantha began to believe that she might be Paen's Beloved, the one to give him back his lost soul. Unfortunately Paen is resistant to the idea.
This book is a fun read just like most books written by Katie MacAlister. Her vampire worlds are a little bit different from other vampire stories but this in no way takes away from the storyline. There's humor, romance, mystery, adventure and murder in this world where ancient evil death gods are alive and trying to take over.
Many of Katie MacAlister's books have graphic adult content. The love/sex scenes can be fairly detailed. I know that's something that can bother some readers so I wanted to mention it.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys vampire romances and magical worlds.
Even Vampires Get the Blues is the 4th book in the Dark Ones series. Other titles in the series are "A Girl's Guide to Vampires;" "Sex and the Single Vampire;" and "Sex, Lies and Vampires."

Post a CommentSounds like a fun read.
The vampire and the romance combinations is very hot right now. I wonder what started the whole trend and thank you for this review of a series which might be worth checking out :)
