One of Suzanne Somers Best Books on Health and Cancer Prevention

Suzanne Somers is the author of 18 books. I had no idea when I bought this book that she had emerged from actress to accomplished author. This is the first book I have read of hers. Most of her books deal with health, weight-loss, and beauty. Her book, Ageless and Breakthrough are on the New York Times best seller list. I was interested in this one because it had to do with cancer. I was researching an article on the subject. I bought the book and was so absorbed with her story, that I read it straight through. She kept me riveted with every new page. I was impressed to say the least.

Cancer is one of the issues that affect all of us today. As women reach their 50's they think about it even more. If their family history has cancer in it, they are even more worried. Suzanne Somer's went through the breast cancer scare, that devastating diagnosis, and came out the other side in triumph. This book is about her second cancer scare in 2008. It shows what can happen in the system with a wrong diagnosis.

In the beginning Suzanne tells her story from November of 2008 when she woke up with life threatening welts over her whole body. She ends up in the hospital with a diagnosis of reoccurring cancer. After days in the hospital and rounds of tests and lab work, she is told they were wrong. It is not cancer but some other contagious infection which they can't seem to figure out. They sentence her to a isolation ward for two weeks until the tests come back. She is finally given permission to go home on the condition she will not leave her house. They give her a menu of several horrible possible diagnoses. They command her to take multiple prescriptions she may or may not need. This is her true horror story of what she went through. It shows the horrible stress she endured and her family endured from misdiagnosis. It shows the audacity of current cancer mistreatment at the hands of doctors. It shows reality not opinion. She is one of thousands who has undergone a similar story.

She then took that anger and began researching alternative cancer therapies and treatments. She interviews some of the top doctors in the country who are curing cancer successfully. She gives you compelling answers for the prevention and treatment of cancer going on right now. I would recommend this book to everyone. This book deserves to be in the top 10 books to put on your wish list.
