An Inspirational Book About Overcoming Your Challenges and Achieving Significance Life

I am all about freebies, and sometimes you can get free books. They are usually just the digital type of ebook, which is nice but I don't want to read a long book on the computer. But this one was an actual paper book that they sent to me absolutely free. When I signed up, I did it because I like to read. It took me about six weeks to get my free book, but I am used to waiting on my freebies and samples so I wasn't even thinking about how long it took. Waiting for six weeks isn't really that long anyways for something that is valued at $11.95.

When I got the book I was pretty excited that something like that actually showed up in my mailbox. I read the back and the 5 pages of snippet reviews by some big names. I thought - boy this guy Tom Pace an actual CEO has some influential friends. Here are a couple of the influential names in the front of the book: Dr. Gary Smalley, and Steve Forbes. I am sure most people have heard of both of those guys. I set the book on the table and didn't think about it for a few days.

A few days later my kids had homework reading assignments, which meant the TV would be off for a while. I don't know about you but I find it hard to try to read while the television is making noise. So I picked up the book and gave it another look, and began thinking. The cover said the author couldn't read over a fourth grade reading level at the age of 26, so what would he know about writing a book. I have read books before that were written by celebrities, and they should have never been published. This book appeared to be self-published; I thought that was going to be bad news.

I started to read the book, I would have rather read a bad book than go and clean something, but that is just me. I was pleasantly surprised, the book was actually well written and I found myself pulled into the story wanting more. I thought that the opening story would be short and then the book would get boring. Again I was surprised, the story at the beginning was the main story and it did not get boring. The book 'Mentor: The Kid & The CEO' was actually a good read. It was inspiring, motivating, and makes you want to go out and do good, and then start your own business.

The book 'Mentor: The Kid & The CEO' by Tom Pace is an easy read, about a young man named Tony who gets in trouble with the law. Tony meets a man named Malcolm while in jail. Malcolm leads a group session at the jail and Tony goes just to get out of his jail cell. Malcolm gives Tony a book about miracles and once Tony reads the book, he realizes how his life could be different. Malcolm starts to mentor Tony while in Jail, when Tony gets released he continues to meet with Malcolm and turns his life around.

In the book Malcolm suggests to Tony that he needs to read to learn from history and important people and life lessons. There are a few books mentioned: 'Greatest Miracle in the World' by Og Mandino, 'How to Win Friends and Influence People' by Dale Carnegie, 'Think and Grow Rich' by Napolean Hill, 'The Purpose Driven Life' by Rick Warren, 'Unlimited Power' by Anthony Robbins, and 'E-Myth Revisited' by Michael E. Gerber. Then at the back of the book there is a long list of other recommended books to read. I am excited to have this list of influential books; I am going to start reading again. If you read one book a week this list would last you over a year. You can find the list here: Recommended Reading List.

The overall message of the book is to take action, not to sit around and be grumpy that life isn't going your way, and that it isn't your fault that you are in the situation you have gotten into. Take action now by getting your copy of 'Mentor: The Kid & The CEO' by Tom Pace with Walter Jenkins you can find it here at Amazon and at MentorHope.com.
