I received a fancy camera for my birthday, which was a few days before I read this book. Since I have had the camera I have turned into something more than a shutterbug; I am a camera-holic. I would rather take photos that eat or sleep. The morning I started this book, I thought I would read a few pages then go out in the gorgeous day to a local park to take photos. A few pages turned into three chapters; all the while I was reminding myself it's time to take photos because you don't know how long the weather is going to be this gorgeous, but I couldn't stop reading. This book is fantastic; a true page turner.
Let me tell you about the beginning of the book that was good I didn't want to put it down. Ruth Warnecki has taken the day off to go treasure hunting by herself in Winkel's Cave located in Maestro, Virginia. This cave has many passages that have multiple twists and turns, but Ruth has a treasure map that she found in an old book she bought at a bookstore so she isn't worried about getting lost; at least not at first.
Already I'm wondering if Ruth is just plain stupid or is she is a plucky soul with more courage than common sense. Plus I'm wondering is this woman a main character which equals heroine or will she be killed off in the first few pages? I had to keep reading to find out. By the way you'll have to read the book to find out yourself. (I didn't find out until I late that evening after I had gotten back from the park and admired my photos).
This is the 10th book of Catherine Coulter's FBI series that features Dillon Savich and Lacey Sherlock who work together and are married. He's the boss. At least at work he is; at home their son, Sean seems to have both of them wrapped around his tiny little fingers. These two are working to catch a criminally insane old man named Moses Grace and his teenage companion, Claudia who is also crazy and amoral. Moses and Claudia trick and deceive Special Agents Savich and Sherlock and lead them down several false trails. Moses Grace threatens Sherlock's life which distracts Savich a bit. Enough about that.
I think I told a lie earlier when I said I wouldn't tell you anymore about Ruth Warnecki, but I find I have to in order to talk about another main character, Sheriff Dixon Noble of Maestro. Sheriff Noble finds Ruth unconscious in the woods near his house, well his dog, Brewster, found her. She turns up with amnesia and their paths cross with Dillon Savich and Lacey Sherlock when the sheriff works to found out who she is and why she was in Maestro, Virginia.
I find that this is all I can say without saying too much. Get the book, you will not be disappointed.

Excellent review of a great book!
Anything that could keep you from your photo opportunities is worth checking out. If the book is half as entertaining as your review, I know I'll enjoy it :)
