Nick Hornby is very good at showing emotion through this book. I found "Slam" very realistic and it made me feel as if I were there watching it all happen. I think that the way that the author has wrote the book is very clever as at certain points, Sam goes forward into the future and then back to present again.
I would certainly recommend "Slam", but I think it's more suitable for teenagers/adults. It's written through the eyes of a 16 year old boy, so I think it would be a good read for someone around that age, even though considering I am 2 years younger, and a girl, it still really got through to me and was an excellent read.
Ultimately, I think that "Slam" is an amazing book in every way and there is nothing that I can think of to criticise it! So why don't you all go out, buy it and enjoy!
