Book Review of Take Two by Karen Kingsbury

Jennifer Kirkman
Take Two was another goody! The story of Chase Ryan and Keith Elliot continue as they are now trying to get their movie The Last Letter promoted. This is hard work and they wonder if it'll ever get off the ground. Their next project will be "Unlocked," which is a novel that they have to gain rights to first before they can make a movie out of it. However, doing this is proving to be another stumbling block as they try to get Brandon Paul a top actor to play in the new film.

In the meantime, Chase's family is falling apart at home with him never home. His wife Kelly has had it and doesn't know how she can cope with this movie making much longer. She has the two girls to manage by herself, and the bills are piling up higher and higher. She is hopelessly addicted to food and can't stop eating all the time. Food is her vice for coping with the whole situation. Chase keeps telling her to hang in there, but Kelly isn't sure that she will be able to much longer, as she becomes more and more depressed. There is an emergency that happens sometime in the book, and Kelly needs Chase home as soon as possible.

Andi, Keith's daughter is a real piece of work. Bailey Flanigan tries to talk some sense into her roommate when Taz, a drama student at the college is planning to produce his own film. The film requires partial nudity, and Andi is inclined to go for it. Partial nudity couldn't be that bad could it? is how she sees it. So why not do it? After all, nudity is art. Bailey sees through the whole thing as being disastrous and she tries to tell Andi what kind of guy Taz really was. Andi is falling head over heels in love with this guy, and Bailey is afraid for her friend. But of course, Andi doesn't listen, even after getting in trouble with some guy in the past at a party at another time in the book.

Cody may be coming back into Bailey's life, but there is a problem there. Bailey thought that Cody was seemingly interested in Andi, and not only that, but Bailey thinks she loves Tim, her new boyfriend. Yet as she thinks she loves Tim, Cody is always on her mind. Whether or not the two really get back together again remains to be seen.
