Books About Concentration Camps

Lora
I am going to write about a book I just finished reading called Night by Wiesel. This book is about how him and his family were taken away from their home to concentration camps.

This took place in 1944. Wiesel and his family were Jewish. They lived in a town in Transylvania. This is a true story. A very good book. It told how Wiesel and his family were taken to concentration camps and they were split up women went one way men went the other.

The thing I remember the most about the book is where when Wiesel and his family arrived at the concentration camp the thing that stuck out the most was the crematorium. Which was a furnace they threw Jews in. They burnt them alive.

I do not understand why people could do this to other people. I guess that is the way it was back then. But this man tells this story so well and it is a book you will not put down until you have read the whole thing. It is a true story.

The things people had to go through in concentration camps is horrible. This book tells every minute of everyday of this man's life while he was in the holocaust. In my opinion I would love to read all the books by Elie Wiesel. This man is a brilliant author and man in my eyes. For someone to endure as much as him and his family did is very commemorative.

This man had to watch his whole family die in front of him while he stood there and could do nothing about it. That takes a lot of courage if you ask me.

But for you readers out there looking for a good book to read if you haven't read it already is the book called Night by Elie Wiesel. Very good book.

Another good book to read if you have not read it yet is The Diary of a Young Girl Anne Frank. Same story line almost but in this one her and her family go in hiding during the holocaust. They stay in hiding for 2 years until the war is over.

She falls in love while in hiding with this boy who is hiding with them his name is Peter. She is the youngest in the Secret Annexe and she seems like everything she says the grown ups look at her like she is stupid or she don't know anything about what they are talking about because she is young.

She finally keeps to herself until the war is over and they start to respect her. She cried every night because she felt like such an outcast in the house.

This too is a very good book to read. I have never read anything about the Holocaust until recently and I have to say they are very interesting books. To actually know what went on back in those days is amazing.
