Books for the Holidays

Julie Wimmer
With the fall and winter holidays around the corner, and so close together, it's nice to have books about them around the house. Whether it be holiday stories, recipes or ideas, these books can help anyone with their holiday planning.

Halloween Books
From "101 Spooktacular Ideas" to "Shy Mama's Halloween" to "Clever Costume Creating for Halloween" there are plenty of great books for your Halloween party, school party, costume, menu and more.

Thanksgiving Books
Try "Ankle Soup" which is cute for the kids as "An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving" which is a classic by the famous Louisa May Alcott.

Christmas Books
"How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a must" as well as the newer, popular fiction by Jane O'Connor "Fancy Nancy: Splenderific Christmas."

Chanukah Books
Whether it be "Hannukah Haiku," "The Magic Menorah," or "Happening Hanukkah: Creative Ways to Decorate," your Chanukah (yes, there are many spellings) will be fantastic.

Bonus (non - holiday books) but great for gifts FOR the holidays!

I bought a Christmas book by Dave Barry that I am looking forward to reading closer to Christmas. It's called, "The Shepherd, the Angel, and Walter the Christmas Miracle Dog." Not reading it now gives me something to look forward to when it's cold and yucky. :)
