Boost Your Metabolism

Jason Ward
The primary focus for speeding up your metabolism is of course to lose weight, that is why I have put together this article to show you some of the ways you can speed yours up to not only give you a healthier body but also to hopefully lose a ton of weight.

First of all you need to get over the idea that eating substantially less or skipping meals is healthy because it definitely is not, the only way to boost your metabolism is by actually eating more often and up to six meals a day, granted of course that they are smaller than your average meal. A good portion to measure by is a fist of protein, a fist of starches, and then as many fruits and vegetables as you want. Make sure to also keep your drinking habits in check and not drink fattening sodas and whatnot, instead drink healthy juices and other natural drinks.

If you don't mind burning your mouth a little try adding some spicy sauce or chili powder to your food, which not only enhances the flavor but surprisingly enough speeds up your metabolism as well, and will keep away colds and other diseases.

Exercise is the next step in getting your metabolism up there as your body works harder and it takes more food to keep it going. Exercise can of course include any and all of the variations such as weight lifting which keeps your muscles burning throughout the day, cardio which pumps up your heart rate, and any type you find to your liking.

Sleeping right is another plus as tiredness and stress can tend to drag down your metabolism, so the more quality sleep you get in, the better all around. I would almost recommend 10 hours a night but I know for a lot of you workaholics this isn't possible so instead just try implementing a change in your own sleep habits whether it's going to be an hour earlier or whatever it is you have to do to catch up on those extra hours you need.

Some people suggest such hot drinks as Coffee and Green Tea, if you are going to go from that angle I would advise you to stick with the green tea as it is a lot healthier, and if you get addicted to coffee it can be detrimental to your health.

If you stick to the basic outlines of this guide I guarantee you will see results both in your health but also in your weight loss. My advice is instead of doing it as a onetime thing, make it a lifelong habit and for the rest of your life you will be in great physical and mental shape.
