Boost Mobile Motorola Clutch I465 Prepaid Cellphone Product Review

Blair Mathis
Boost Mobile has gone from relatively unknown to fairly popular in just a few years, and now offer sleek, professional, and modern cellphones, a big change over the boxy plastic phones they had a few years ago. The Motorola Clutch i465 is now offered by Boost Mobile, and is one of the nicest cellphones to enter the prepaid market. For a retail price of only $79.95, you'll get a cellphone that is very similar in style to the Blackberry Curve cellphone, and that offers a wide array of modern and useful features.

Features

The biggest feature I see for the Clutch i465 that is missing from prepaid cellphones is the walkie-talkie feature, a mode that lets two cellphones on the same network to talk back and forth for free like the two phones are walkie-talkies. Unlike dialing for normal phone calls, you can use this feature by pressing a single button, ala your normal handheld radios.

In addition to that useful feature, Boost Mobile's Motorola Clutch also offers web access via a built-in WAP web browser. MMS messages are supported, allowing you to send images you take with the camera included on the i465-the official website doesn't say what the resolution of these images are, but the sample image looks like the standard 1.3 megapixels found on most cellphones.

There is a Bluetooth feature for this cellphone, but unlike the Bluetooth found on most cellphones, this one not only allows you to connect to a headset, but also sync with a PC to add and remove music, pictures, and videos from the phone.

There is also an array of basic features, including the standard clock/alarm/calendar/calculator that even the most cheap cellphones have. Ringtones can be either midi or normal mp3, and can be loaded from a PC instead of being forced to purchase them via the carriers service store.

Conclusion

The Boost Mobile Motorola Clutch i465 cellphone is a very modern and sophisticated phone when compared to many of the other phones available on the prepaid market. This device is very up-to-date, and wouldn't be embarrassing for a teen, a businessman, or anyone looking for a deal on a budget. Though Boost Mobile isn't available in as many places other prepaid carriers, this is definitely a cellphone to keep your eye.
