I recently purchased a bottle at a local drugstore. I must admit that I gave it a try originally because of the bargain price. Walnut Shell Body Scrub & Cleanser is packaged in a plain opaque 16 oz. bottle, and has a very simple "no frills" label. At under $4.00 (on sale) it was worth the money to see if it was something I would enjoy and possibly use on a regular basis. And if I didn't, it was an inexpensive experiment.
In the shower, the flip top lid makes it easy to use. The first thing you'll notice when you flip open the lid is the fragrance. This is a deliciously nutty smell that I instantly liked. I'm not a fan of heavy floral scents, but prefer citrus or nut based scents. Per the instructions, I squeezed what I consider to be a generous amount into my hand (about a quarter-sized dollop) and begin gently massaging shoulders and elbows. There is some "grit" to the texture due to the walnut shell powder and pumice ingredients, however, I didn't feel like I was rubbing large chunks into my skin. This is a low-to-moderate lather scrub, which I personally prefer. Some may not. Rinsing off the product, I noticed that my skin felt both smooth and clean, without the feeling of any residue.
Booth's Walnut Shell Body Scrub & Cleanser is available at a variety of chain drugstores throughout the U.S., as well as several online stores such as Drugstore.com. I checked the price at several websites to confirm it is widely available for less than $10.00, which in my opinion, makes it a great bargain!
The Booth line of products includes several other cleansers and body washes. If you prefer a high lather scrub, I would suggest mixing this product with one of their body washes to achieve that effect. Because it does not contain floral or fruit based fragrances, I would definitely suggest it for men as well as women.
Overall, this was a pleasantly surprising experience and a product that I will continue to use. It certainly is budget-friendly and does exactly what it claims to do - make my skin feel smoother and polished to a glow.
