One of the fragrances that she gave me was Bora Bora by Liz Claiborne. Bora Bora kind of reminds me of an old school type 80's perfume bottle. The fragrance at first is a little alcohol-like. So you kind of have to let it sit for awhile and then it becomes a little sweet. It reminds me of the 80's or the early 90's perfumes and is reminiscent of the fragrances that would be a little alcohol-like and would then become a little musky and sweet. Bora Bora would have to be one of my favorites out of the batch she gave me.
Along with her giving me a batch of perfume. I got another addition to my fragrance collection. I worked in an office that helped expectant mothers that didn't have a lot of money. A lot of donations were given to the office. An individual that sold Mary Kay donated left over makeup and perfume that wasn't selling or that she didn't plan to sell. So the mothers were allowed to go through the boxes and choose what they wanted and the employees got to pick the leftovers. One of the fragrances I got was Velocity.
This fragrance is just way too strong. I have never gotten a compliment on wearing this fragrance. I really like the way the bottle looks and I have 2 full bottles of it and I wish I could say better things about it. But, I can't. I've been told that it doesn't smell very good and I personally just feel it's too strong. This is a little hard because it's such a stylish bottle and I have so much left. So, what I might do is keep the bottles for decoration for my new home because they're such nice orange bottles.
The last fragrance that I'm going to review in this article is called Wild Fig. It's a fragrance by Henri Bendel of New York. This fragrance another gift from my aunt. This fragrance also reminds me somewhat of the 80's and 90's even though I believe it's a more modern type of fragrance. It reminds me a little bit of Exclamation; except with a little bit more of a finish to it. It's wearable, but overall out of all 3; Bora Bora by Liz Claiborne would be something I'd buy again for myself. It's subtle enough not to be overpowering and I feel this fragrance would be appropriate for many different events and for many different personality types. The one thing to remember about wearing this perfume is that a little bit usually goes a long way. Unlike a body spray it is important to use a very little bit on the pulse points and that is it.
