Borderlands: How to Defeat the Destroyer

Elton Gahr
So you've made it, you've fought your way past hundreds of enemies, collected weapons, spent a small fortune on bullets and finally fought your way through a war zone to get to the vault a mystical and mythical place where alien technology can be found, but as you may have suspected from having played this game things are not actually what you might expect and instead of finding a cache of powerful alien weapons you have found the destroyer a Lovecraftian creature that has tentacles and what appear to be teeth around what I can only call an eye. This creature is your reward for the game and you have to find a way to kill it.

The first thing to know is that this is probably going to take a lot of ammo to kill this and so be aware that there is a traveling beacon this means that you can actually leave go and get weapons and armor or even experience and not have to fight your way back through everything so this is probably worth doing. The truth is that this creature is not actually difficult to hit and even the harder parts still should be reasonably easy which means you probably want to focus on putting a lot bullets into it more than anything else, this means uzi's and combat rifles in general. Make certain all of the right weapons are equipped and with maximum ammo.

Once in the actual fight there are only a few things you need to focus on. The first is that you can do critical hits by hitting the mouth and eye in the middle. This is important mostly because it helps you save ammo so that you do not run out and have to start using other weapons in order to be able to hurt it.

The main weapon of this creature is its tentacles at first. It will shoot out and try to hit you and if it does it will do a fair amount of damage but you should be able to avoid this pretty easily just do not bother to zoom in.

The real danger appears when the four blue testicles appear. These creatures have glowing orbs on them and will shoot out stuff if you allow them. In order to destroy them you need to shoot at those orbs. This is important because killing them will give you a second wind if you have been hurt. Another important and interesting point is that if it knocks you off the edge you will die as well, but it won't restore its health which means that you don't need to avoid this all that much.

This is actually a pretty easy fight if you're the right level just kill the blue tentacles when they appear.
