Borders Books Opens Concept Stores

No Merger for This High Revenue Earner

Without question Borders Books offers innovative psychology and selling, or colloquially known as "concept selling." With its steaming success, marketing both music and books in many stores, it has attained big chain store success at a time when many retailers are forfeiting profits. How has Borders Books attained success and what good can come of it? It's easy, at a time when our hopes and ventures are aching for an affordable hobby, we can share the tunes or read a great book, activities most people enjoy at some times in their lives.

A great book? Yes, Borders carries terrific books. Shoppers can often find books by local writers and publishers from their respective areas of the country, making story reading more vivacious, pertinent and personal. Examples include works published by Scholastic Magazines in Danbury, Connecticut, items offered in the Danbury Border's Books store. One new store was recently announced and opened in Southbury, Connecticut, in 2008.

More of those concept stores in the near future include locations such as Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Mira Loma, California; and the Alameda Towne Centre, Alameda, also in California. One of the business ventures of Borders Books is Walden Books. Walden's is a great supplier of psychology texts, study guides, school preps and traditional American literature, with a store located in the Brass Mill Centre Mall of Waterbury, Connecticut. This location does hold local author book signings.

Borders truly has a great idea as far as alternatives go. For somebody out shopping with a friend or relative, they are a great carrier of hard to find musical favorites for all ages. Managers are receptive and open to general consumer woes at store locations and do accommodate demand the best they can. The store will also order hard to find books and the newest publications on request. Store exhibit clear displays and categorizing with available assistance and easy computer lookup or special ordering, offering both Ingraham and Brick and Mortar distributed books. A Border's alternative approach of two interests for the efforts of one by sales of both music and books allows for a relaxing shopping trip. Live book author signings and musical performances have been given at store locations as close as your "own back yard."

The current Borders Group business headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is the location of the first Border's Store opened in 1971, the chain boasting approximately 1,100 stores and employs 30,000 workers worldwide.
